Is the medic mentor summer school useful and worth the amount it costs to go or just a waste of money?

Depends on where it is and who is running it. You do learn a lot but you need to weigh it up against just getting work experience.

Most definitely:- the summer school is invaluable as you will get an all-important head start to your medicine application. There are useful days spent on completing your first draft of your Personal Statement (the first draft is the hardest), UKCAT/BMAT prep, Interviews and general "making it into medicine" talks.

It does cost a lot but it's worth it if it's what gets you into medicine. You will be able to stay in touch with the Medic Mentors and ask for help whenever.

You'll also make some new friends, possibly for life like I have, from across the country all applying for the same course as you.

Its a scam by out of work doctors, ask them about their medical experience and teaching qualifications... non existent.

    *SCAM AVOID at all costs*

Have to say that the only reason I think I got two offers for medical school was because of medic mentor. They helped me write my personal statement, thought me how to act in interviews and gave me the books which had loads of interview questions. I would definitely recommend

Haha, Personal statement writing companies are illegal and immoral. All the info they give is available from a quick google search, they are unaccredited, unlicensed and unregistered. Not worth your time, or your money, ask a real doctor real university or real school about your medical application. Most Universities spot these 'copy and paste' personal statements, and will delete your application and bar you from applying in the future.

You are clearly a troll! You have no idea what you are talking about. It is not that easy to write a personal statement for medicine and FYI at the Summer School we got personal statement tutoring from real doctors and med students. I couldn't get that help anywhere else! I had looked at other companies who do a very dodgy personal statement review service, but the Medic Mentor Summer school is completely different. Even though I had to write my personal statement myself, the support and guidance you get from having a team of doctors and med students on hand to give you advice is amazing. All the mentors were really inspirational and I am already looking to become a Medic Mentor myself now that I have 3 offers which I can definitely say was helped by the fact that I had these mentors believe in me. It is a disgrace that someone like you who has clearly not even looked into it properly can just slander all of their hard work. Your not doing anyone like me any favours. Would highly recommend getting involved in their network - great mentors and I have made friends for life. Thank you Medic Mentor!
