Hello! Yes it was really good hearing from different lecturers/students. Stuart? He spoke about this forum being very useful last year which is why I thought I would join

No my UCAS hasn't been submitted yet, have a draft of my personal statement but needs fixed up. I'm struggling at the minute... Trying to juggle UCAS, dissertation, assignments etc along with working 30 hours a week! Lol

    Where all have you applied?

Yes, Stuart. Nice guy and kept everyone right last year! Yeah it was great cos people could meet up before and share info etc.

Last year I applied everywhere except Dungannon and got both unis and firmed Queen's. Was all ready to start but had to defer at the last minute. Bursting to get there for the 2017 entry.

You finishing a degree at the min? You be going for the 2 year or 3 year? That does sound really busy! It'll be good prep for next year!

    B xx

Has anybody heard from queens? I sent them the permission to share information 2-3 weeks ago but haven't heard since. I have heard from UU so maybe they're handling my information for queens? I just send my 600 word personal statement but I don't know if that's for queens as well? lol

Yeah of U sent permission to share then they divide the applicants between them and just deal with half each. Just means you only do one 600 word statement and one interview for the two. xx

I didn't realise that by allowing to share meant that you have a lesser chance of getting a place 😂😣 whereas if you don't share you get two interviews for queens and Magee ugh I'm waiting to hear for an interview now but will probably be after Christmas before I hear!!

    Hi,

I am applying for SW 2 year route in Queen's, I have a Criminology degree and am currently completing my Master's degree in Psychology. Would you think that I'd have a good chance of getting a place? Really nervous about applying.

    Thanks 😁

Your undergrad and postgrad sound exactly what they are looking for. Think ultimately it comes down to interview performance. Each question is marked then the interview is totaled. They offer to the highest scorers. Make sure you know social work values inside out and what a sw actually does. I found NISCC and Community Care websites really helpful. xx

College were really strict with us about not sharing but some ppl just shared anyway rather than having to run away up to UU when it was only BMET or Queen's they wanted.

I'm already in from last year, I had to defer to start Sept 2017. I'm just here to meet ppl cos it was really good for that last year. xx
