My mum came into my room without knocking (couldn't hear her coming up the stairs) when I was...hmmm...putting something into an exit-only place. :redface:

My faimly have quite conservative views and she has been very quiet with me since it happened this afternoon....what should I say/do?

Well, i can only recommend trying to talk to her about it, it will only come back in later life. You may find it easier to pretend nothing has happened, naturally, however it may be best in the long run just to come forth and explain what you were doing.

If she brings it up, just don't supplicate too much, she'll only feel extra ashamed then.

I agree with amik777, even a conservative couple will know a thing or two about human sexuality. Chances are she's not shocked you were doing something sexual as a whole (I mean, c'mon, you're how old?) but is reacting to "My little boy's is becoming a sexual being.. He used to sit on my lap! *sniff*" kind of way.
