Unite Students - End of Tenancy? Watch

I'm just curious what happens at the end of first year, since I am around a 4 hour drive from home, I'd rather not have to move home again for the duration of summer with all my belongings (which is a lot) and then right before second year starts, move back to the unite students hall, it all seems very tedious if I'm forced to move out with all my stuff and then at the end of summer move back in with all of my belongings.

I did have a look at the Unite Students site and it does say that students can stay for second as well as third year at the Unite Student halls. Anyone here have any experience with this?

    Thanks!!

Different halls will offer different things. Some places will offer nothing over summer and you will have no choice but to take your stuff with you. Some places will store things for you over the summer if you have signed a contract for the following year. Some places will offer half price rent over the summer so you can pay that and leave your stuff.

Private houses/flats generally run 12 month contracts including the summer, so if you get a room in one of those you could move your stuff over and leave it there during the summer.

What do you wish to do?
Private Halls will run acontract limited to term times. You have the option to stay during out of term times, but you have to pay. Have you asked Unite or looked at their website properly? it will tell you. They normally rent the rooms out over the summer, so its not a case of just leaving your stuff there. If you wish to do that you will most likely have to rent your room for that period.

If you intend to stay the following year then they may have a storage area for your belongings (which they will charge you for) or you may need to put them into local private storage if uoi dont wish to haul them back home.

Any idea on the pricing for storage?
