I've only just completed my first draft of my personal statement and I'm waiting for feedback from my teacher, looking at forums on student room however it seems like people have already received offers. Do you think the time you send in your application has an effect on wether your successful or not?

jneill or w.e. confirmed the time you send in your application does not matter, but you are advised to get it over and done with as your teachers will obviously just have them piling up over the weeks and it'll be one thing off your mind.

I sent mine off last Thursday but I know people who have only just started their personal statements, so you're not like massively late.

Thank you, after reading other forums I was starting to get a bit worried.

Entirely depends on your school. In my sixth form, almost everyone started in December (I made 3 different PS, and only managed to finish it before the end of December).

You are in no way at a disadvantage from submitting later than others (as stated above).

You are guaranteed equal consideration by your universities so long as you apply before the January deadline.

No need to rush, but equally, don't leave it to the last minute.

My son still hasn't decided whether to apply to Uni next September, let alone started his PS.
