What is the applicant to offer ratio? I want to put it as my fifth choice but I don't think it's a good idea because foundation years are always really popular. Is medicine with foundation year at durham or Manchester less competitive?

If you're already using 4 choices for medicine, I don't think you can use the 5th choice for foundation med. You can only use a maximum of 4 choices on your UCAS form for programmes which lead to a qualification in medicine.

Plus, if you're already applying to 4 med schools, and you're eligible to apply to them, chances are you don't meet the criteria for foundation medicine?

But yea, it will be competitive. It's not an easy route in.

Foundations are 104 not 100. However, yes, if you qualify for knemit ususually bans you from the others. Many foundations will not, accept applicants with chemistry.
