Having left university mid course (oops) i'm now stuck in rather a rut..
i've been applying for jobs left, right and centre,.. but unfortunately nothing has come up yet.. (violins anyone?! ha)
i was really rather interested in the trainee probation officer (TPO) positions but sadly i didnt make it to the final round, its sooo competitive!
After some thinking,.. i applied to be a prison officer. i was wondering if there was anyone out there who has applied or is in the HMP service? how long does it take to hear back from them after the initial application?? i'm panicking that i haven't even made it through the first sift
I really want a job that allows me to study and train,.. the TPO sounded ideal to me as you got to complete a degree at the same time,.. (leaving university for me was not really my choice,.. i had to leave to move closer to my home town for family reasons) anyone know of any other places i could apply that offer degrees whilst working? i know of a few NHS jobs/courses..
i really want to work with people, and i yearn for REAL job satisfaction, helping people etc.. i do have work experience mostly customer service, adminy and i'm a trained chef (defo do not want to follow that route though!!)
i guess at 24 i just feel a little lost and fancied a bit of a ramble.. but yeah if there are any prison officers amongst us make yourself known please
