PhD after Medicine?

Hi there,

I was just wondering if on completion of a Medicine MBBS degree, is it possible to directly do a PhD (part-time, whilst practising) and NOT required a Masters degree?

Or would you require a masters' after an MBBS in order to pursue a PhD?

A masters is not required in order to pursue a PhD but you may want to look at the medical schools that offer combined MB/PhD programmes, such as those offered by UCL, Imperial and Cambridge.
