Is there an easy way to work this out by hand, as its getting a bit messy just from working out (X^tX)^-1. Or is there a way to do it on R?
    Many thanks

Yep this is definitely something you would be able to do in R. You will find this useful to help you sort it out on R: http://www.statmethods.net/advstats/matrix.html

Set up your code and trial it on some ones that you have done by hand to make sure it works.
