This thread is for those intending on applying for KCL Medicine this October, with the view to enter in September 2017. Feel free to ask questions regarding all aspects of the course with anyone here.

As a side note, I am currently a final year Biomed student at KCL, so will be happy to answer any queries. I also studied two years of medicine prior to switching course and so have knowledge on that course to a high degree as well. Any questions on why I switched will be ignored as it's for a plethora of personal reasons, but anything else is fine
Did you have to sit the UKCAT when you studied medicine? How did you find the interview/selection process?

I heard from a friend that taking a language for A level like French, German is an advantage when applying to medicine. Is that actually true? I do Maths, bio, chem, econ

I've heard that too. I don't think all unis that offer medicine see it as an advantage but I think some certainly do. I'm taking Scottish Advanced Higher (A2 equivalent) German, biology and chem.

    Hi everyone!

Quick question. I have my Kings interview coming up in December and I was wondering if the interview score is used in conjunction with the other factors like GCSE, A2 and UKCAT scores or is it used in isolation for offer allocation??

    Many Thanks!!!

I've still had no reply. Does that mean I'm likely to be rejected? I'm a mature student.

As far as I'm aware, once you're through to interview, the competition relies on interview performance alone.

I'm guessing people getting interviews in December must be the cremé de la cremé. I'm 16 weeks post application and still no news yet!

    Actually, no and no.
This year, even post-interview you will be judged holistically.

And they go through their apps in no particular order.

Offer holders day is in a week time and i haven't heard from them yet? Why? I am hopeless now. Do you think they still have got my application or they lost my interview paper. Sounds like something has gone wrong?

Same here! No correspondence from them since my interview in Jan. This is a joke!
