Theresa May has announced no more money for the NHS, despite widespread evidence of a massive crisis looming in both emergency and regular care, partly caused by the side effects of government cuts to social care for the elderly.
    https://www.theguardian.com/society/...tumn-statement

This is the real Leave Britain - not a penny more for the NHS.

Boris Johnson is not returning calls on the subject. Michael Gove is in hiding. Nigel Farage is at his luxury house in Brussels. The NHS is collapsing.

    Tory Britain.

Theresa never made that promise. Moreover, I don't think it was the main reason for voting leave. Only a fool could have believed that the NHS would get £50 million a day after Brexit.

Lol, it doesn't matter what May promised. May was a remainer (allegedly), should she just ignore the result? this is just blatant *******ry.

Plenty of people believed it btw.

Yes, the question was not whether funding the NHS or not, but leaving the EU or not. As long as she has a majority, she can take the policies she wants.

The "give 350m a week to the NHS" pledge had no value.

The question was not leaving the EU or not but leaving the EU under certain conditions one of which was that the NHS would get 350m a week if the UK left. Had the conditions been different, the ref result would've been different.

Again, *******ry of epic proportions to suggest that campaign promises had no value.

Worth noting, we havent actually left yet.

At the moment, what ever amount it is, is still going to the E.U.

The terms of our exit have barely even began to be negotiated..

(I expect the 350m figure to be utter *******s, but right now this is just another pointless thread trying to find something that isnt there.. Save this thread title until after we actually leave, and the terms of our exit are public)

May already announced she wouldn't be giving more money to the NHS, that's what this thread's about.

The world is full of fools. Trying to sway their votes by feeding them BS is still bad political practice.

    Why?
The NHS is always a proxy for most of the issues the UK public ever vote on.

Why do you think Leave bothered mentioning the NHS? For the lols? The EU is taking money that could be spent on the NHS. The EU is forcing immigration on us that is overcrowding our NHS. The EU is forcing foreign Doctors and nurses on us who can not even speak our language. Like the NHS but don't like immigration/EU is a massive demographic in the UK.

Who do you think Teresa May is trying to appeal to when she adopts Miliband economic rhetoric with xenophobia and anti immigration stances? It's the above demographic.

Do you also think the Leave vote had nothing to do with immigration as well? It's convenient for you to deny any love for the NHS since unlike the anti-immigration stuff you don;t really like the NHS.

Didn't good ol' Trump defending demagogue Nigel dismiss this the day after Brexshit happened? I'd be more surprised if the NHS survives let alone getting more funding, but of course people hate admitting they are wrong so will get defensive over criticism of any kind.

Don't you think it's a bit silly to dismiss a blatant lie from the Leave campaign, when the Remain campaign is also constantly dismissed as 'project fear', lies etc.? Both sides made stupid claims, most notably this from Leave and "leaving the EU could start WW3" from Remain. You can't argue that "'no one believed them" because it appears a lot of people did, and "giving 350m each week to our NHS" was practically the tag line of Leave (as was "take back control"). The fact that the NHS isn't getting a single penny more than before is evidence that the post-Brexit future may not be what people thought it would be. In the same vain, the fact that the sky hasn't caved in shows that Remain were also overblowing the fallout from the vote. Obviously the question on the ballot wasn't whether or not to give more funding to the NHS, but when people are told this is basically guaranteed to happen with a Leave vote, and then it doesn't happen, you can't just dismiss the claim like it wasn't even to be taken seriously in the first place (ironically people like Farage even admitted this wasn't true the day after the referendum) .
