Hey guys I'm in the process of applying to uni, wanting to study Computer Science! I've looked at Leicester, Nottingham, Nottingham Trent, Lincoln, and Manchester Metropolitan.
Anyone else applying for CS in these places/anyone already studying who I can get advice from?

Oh cool! What kind of things have you covered so far? & what are the lectures like? I went to the open day today but I found the guy giving the talk on CS frustrating and hard to follow.

Programming wise a little bit of Java which will get progressively harder over time, they assume no prior knowledge when starting. We're also doing modules on Discrete Maths, Computer Systems(which covers binary, CPU operations on paper and things like that) and on writing requirements for IT systems.

It's mostly just been hours of theory so far which is a bit tedious tbh, the lecturers have said it will seem like that now but it'll become apparent later in the course why you need the knowledge.
