Hi, I'm a HP Pavilion Laptop who is a colossal tw@ and my owner has had enough of my ****.

My issue is that whenever she is on the internet, I do this thing where I decide that I have no internet connection anymore even though the wifi is working fine for other people and is working on her phone. I won't let her find an internet connection until she restarts LOL.

But she's lost the will and is about to drop an anvil on my bastard screen or launch me from the top floor window. Help. How do I change?

    SERIOUSLY THO. PLEASE.

It could be a number of issues that would be difficult to diagnose without having access to the laptop. In no particular order:

Malware of some sort. It's not uncommon to see viruses that mess with internet settings, either intentionally or as a side effect
Damage to the WiFi card. If the card has been damaged (or maybe is a little loose) then that could be the issue
Some other software or hardware fault is causing the disconnection, for exmaple conflicting software
Location. Maybe you just aren't getting a very good signal

My advice is to try the laptop close to the router/WiFi access point and see if the issue persists.

If it does take a screwdriver to the laptop. Undo all the screws, remove the back panel and try to locate the WiFi card. It'll be a small, roughly square circuit board card with 2 wires coming from it. If it appears to be undamaged and firmly connected then that probably isn't the issue (although you can't rule out a damaged card).

Perform a full system scan and ensure you don't have any malware installed. The only real surefire way to deal with this is to reinstall the OS on a clean drive but that's outside the scope of most people's expertise.

Beyond that any major troubleshooting is best left to a professional. It's never really all that clear what's causing these sorts of things so it's impossible to say what you should be looking for.

    I'm dying

Have you tried looking on the HP forums first as to what could be causing the problem?
