    Hello,

I recently opened up a HSBC Student account. I got a code that is supposed to give me £60 Amazon credit and a year of free Amazon Student, I got the money alright, but when it activated my student membership, it says it is expiring on the 15th April 2017, not the 15th October (6 months, not 12).

I'm a bit annoyed, because I could've basically just gone for the regular 6 month trial of Amazon Student.

Anyone else had this issue? I'm gonna try ringing HSBC tomorrow when their lines are open.

I wouldn't bother ringing HSBC, they'll only direct you to Amazon since the issue probably lies with them.

Did you redeem a code or did you sign up? The default time for free Amazon Student is 6 months so maybe you signed up without envoking the offer from HSBC? Were there instructions saying you had to have an account set up already and the code would add a free year?

While it says it expires after 6 months it's also possible the year of HSBC will be added on after. So you'd get the default 6 months and then an additional year afterwards.

Only way to know for sure is to contact Amazon though

Well, the instructions said it doesn't matter if you have an account or not, and just redeem the code and the year will be added. But my one say s it's end soon in April

Amazon are the only people who can sort it out for you. It starts from the date you take the voucher.
