Do people want what they can't have?

There's a guy who I was crazy about for ages, but he never wanted to go out with me. I'm now going out with someone else, and I've managed to forget my feelings for the other guy, but we still chat often as friends.

I told my friend thinking he'd be really happy for me and would ask questions about the guy etc. and instead he just acted jealous and didn't really ask me anything/tried to change the subject.

I don't really understand his reaction; he always maintained he only saw me as a friend, and we're supposed to be good friends. I don't see why he'd be bothered by this.

Either he's changed his mind or he felt validated by you when you liked him and if he's lost that.. then that could be why he's acting that way.

You can either just not bring up the subject or stop talking to him completely.

Thanks, it could be that yeah I don't want to lose his friendship, as he's a good friend, but I'll maybe just avoid that subject yeah !
