I feel like such a narcissist right now but I just love embracing these moments where I realise how awesome I am and just love myself and look at myself in the mirror a lot and wonder why I don't have more friends because I'm such a likeable person. These moments last for about an hour and come about once a week.

Interesting... do you feel a need for admiration from others?

You're either trolling or expressing a deeply ugly emotion, even for a teenager. For an aspiring mental health professional or nurse, it's even more bizarre.

Yes but its more I yearn to be appreciated and loved by others as opposed to admired

There's nothing with having confidence in myself and finally learning to love everything about me after so long. I'm not egotistically, or narcissistic per say and I certainly don't think I'm better than anyone so I don't know what you mean by "deeply ugly emotion".

I'd have thought a prerequisite for dealing with mental health and teaching people to value themselves is to value oneself also?

Yes, but the phrase "...I realise how awesome I am and just love myself and look at myself in the mirror a lot and wonder why I don't have more friends because I'm such a likeable person." is the antithesis of 'valuing oneself' - it revels either a great insecurity with a need for reassurance and validation or an unhealthy narcissism and vanity. Most people do not feel like this about themselves.

Confidence imo takes time to build. Surround yourself with people who appreciate you and work on loving yourself.

I didn't say I felt like that all the time, I said I get little bursts of extreme confidence like this which make me feel good about myself. Would you rather me hate myself and be insecure about all the things that are wrong with me? Because I've been there and its not a nice feeling. This current feeling is the best feeling that I get and I want to make sure that everyone feels this confident about themselves at some point in their life.

True, but I don't really like anything about myself. All my college squad appreciate me, but I can't love myself :cry2::cry:
