I always walk around my house in them, up and down the stairs. To make sure I have the right balance and get used to them

If you're wearing tights and ankle boots, I usually wear ankle socks as I find the tights can be a little slippery then I lose my balance

I don't wear high heels, but I'm getting there slowly, but surely.

Don't wear them, they can damage your back in the long run.

Practice wearing heels, that's what i do :yep:
Also if you aren't confident in pencil heels, then maybe wear wedges. That's comfortable

    Walk properly.
Don't totter around, balancing on the balls of your feet like some penguin-ladies do. Walk like you do in any shoe - heel first, toe second. If you look like a newborn puppy, try again.
Start with more comfy heels - make sure they fit most importantly. Wedges with straps are the easiest. Pump-type stillettos with tiny spikes will break your ankles. Break them in with fluffy socks and a hair dryer (careful not to stretch out too far)

Definitely start with a thicker heel! I went from wedges to a block heel relatively easily.

Try out chunky heels, I find it quite difficult to walk properly in wedges because they're so clunky but while stilettos are easier to walk in your feet hurt like hell after a few hours - definitely try shoes with straps and if the straps are digging into you, glue some felt onto the inside of the straps - no one will notice and they'll be more comfy
