So im my 4 th week studying history and i hate it. I don't find the course as enjoyable or as interesting as i thought it would be. I get on with my flatmates but we all keep to ourselves and hardly interact. i have made no friends or even acquaintances. I feel like dropping out and redoing a few a exams and getting a part time job and reapply on a different course next year. any help?

Just explore the possibilities. Its normally three things, course, accommodation , unhappiness due to lack of friends.

Is it the subject or is it the way its taught?
You will have incurred fees for the term, so consider whether you should stick it out and see if it gets better. Talk to tutor, other students, second years etc.

No chance of making friends, there are pleny of people in the same boat.

If you think its a no goer, then you need to leave and can look up the formal procedure process. Involves letting your department know, fees, sfe, accommodation etc. You get a gift year, so you have another chance of being fully funded for whatever degree you choose.

Imo trust yourself but its a better choice doing a degree you want at a place you want and maybe a different way of making friends? Its a £45,000 choice so make sure you spend it on soemthing worthwhile. better to admit a wrong turn now than pretend it isnt happening.
