Hi there. I have now entered the dreaded third year stage of my BA Primary Education course and it is safe to say that any time someone utters the word dissertation, I want the ground to eat me up.

I am struggling to decide on a place to start. The topic of friendship, families and social issues has always interested me. Particularly the way it affects children's achievement and attitudes within school. I have heard that Jacqueline Wilson books are particularly hot on this topic however, having not read any of her books and also knowing they are pretty female heavy, they just don't feel right.

I always had a keen interest in Michael Morpurgo and think his writing is wonderful. Does anyone have any ideas how I could link the topic and his books or any other fantabulous ideas that may help a strruggling student out?

Any opinions/ideas would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks!
