Finance Graduate JP Morgan... PAY?!!

Hi every1,
I just landed a place on the jp morgan finance graduate scheme...basically it will involve me completing a CIMA qualification.
What I would like to know is what the salary progression is like, what kind or bonuses am I looking at and if it is possible for me to get into corporate finance or M&A.
I know they will train me to become an accountant first then will unleash me into other roles.

Could any1 help please.

Poor. poor and unlikely.

If he has the offer, his contract will state exactly what the current salary is? Not that it was what he asked for.

Yeah, or maybe he still hasn't got the contract yet... The possibilities are endless .

While President_Ben is true if you compare it to a front office role, in terms of normal graduate salaries, you'll always have a way above average one and the progression will be pretty reasonable. You'll never hit the millions some in front office do, but 10-20 years down the line I'd be surprised if you aren't into 6 figures.

If you want to move to corp. fin. or M&A, best to leave for a few years to move to a different employer in something M&A or finance-related then try and come back, arguing that you've gained extra transferable skills and knowledge.

cheers for the input guys...
i have the option of going to imperial to do msc finance, i have 1st class in economics at the moment... im just deciding whether its better to go straight into JP now into the role i dont want and then make the career change... ultimately the exposure counts alot more than education these days.... what do u guys reckon the typical bonus is for the middle office staff in finance?
thnx again!

There isn't one. Depends on how long you've been in it. And it would never get that high because you can never add that much value. Yeah, 10 to 20 years down the line you might hit 6 figures but if you see yourself as being front office worthy, why didn't you apply for it?

If you've got a masters and think you can leverage to front, go do it. You can probably defer the grad offer.
