I am studying a level 3 extended diploma in applied science. I have 5 universities that will allow me to apply.

    These are as follows:
    UEA
    Reading
    Keele
    Ulster
    Wolverhampton

To apply to all of these however we had to change our course significantly to include 6 chemistry units they deemed eligible.

I am predicted D*D*D, have over 16 weeks worth of shadowing pharmacists, 3 references with 2 being from clinical pharmacists at different hospitals which are really good and quite a stellar personal statement. I don't have great GCSES and I also have a criminal record for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. It was a silly fight in town when drunk at 6am over 15 months ago, I got a fine and some community service. I have declared this on my UCAS.

So.. What do you think? I've turned my life around and worked so hard for this, I would like to hear some opinions about whether I have a chance or not. Thanks.

I've had a check for you:

UEA: DDD + "Applicants with Access or BTEC qualifications will be invited to attend a selection interview. If successful they will also be asked to complete the Pharmacy Entrance Exam at the University during the Summer. Information concerning the content of the chemistry test will be made available to such applicants. GCSE English language Grade B and GCSE Mathematics grade B or for the new GCSE's in England we require GCSE English language grade 5 and GCSE Mathematics grade 5."

Reading: DDD-DDM but states "This qualification will be considered if taken in combination with A Levels. "

Keele: DDD-DDM and states "please contact university"

Ulster: "Overall Applied Science (Laboratory and Industrial Science) BTEC Award Profile DDD to include Unit Profile of 11 Distinctions. MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING MODULES - Fundamentals of Science; Scientific Practical Techniques; Industrial Applications of Chemical Reactions; Chemical Periodicity and its Applications, Industrial Application of Organic Chemistry."

    Wolverhampton: DDD

Based just from the entry requirements it's unlikely you could receive an offer from Reading. However, based on entry requirements the other ones you should receive an offer. Now on to your current situation I would strongly advice you to contact the university, preferably by phone so it allows you to explain your situation better, and see what they say. As you'll only actually get the answers your looking for by the university them self.

    Hi,
Just a minor correction, Reading accepts BTEC (DDD) without any a levels provided you meet the specific unit requirements given by the admissions tutor. I confirmed by emailing the admissions department and I'm currently applying to Reading.

    Hope this helps.
