What, if anything should be done about MPs voteing against the wishes of their constituents regarding important issues such as the EU referendum?

For instance, many leavers are disgusted that many IN campaigners e.g. Anna Soubry are not representative of their constituencies (Anna's overall voted to leave)

But, the opposite is also true - for instance Jacob Rees-Mogg's constituency voted to Remsin in the EU despite him being a long time brexit advocate.

As I understand it the UK works on a trustee model of representation and as such any MP has no compulsion to do what their consituents want. They are their to act in the best interests of their constituents as their best judgement dictates. As with other areas of British politics there is no recourse and basically the solution to this problem is to shut up and take it until the next election.

That is unless you live in the Speaker's constituency because he can only vote in the case of a tie and always stands unapposed, but thats a different problem.

This, like most of the British political system is practically immune to reform because those that have the power to change ot benefit from the status quo...

This gets worse if you end up with an MPS that is generally in lockstep with his voters, yet votes against them on this issue. Given how few mps were voted in on their eu credentials this is a difficult crictism of our democracy as a whole.
