Psychology IA - is it ethical?

    • Thread Starter

I want to do a study which looks at how music can impact on stress.

In the study I am replicating participants are given a stressful task to complete before they listen to music.

This goes against the BPS guidelines and the ethical guidelines for Psychology IAs which are not allowed to induce stress or anxiety.

Do you know if it would be okay to include a normal subject test in my experiment - so this is not a test I am giving to students, but a test they have to do anyway and then ask them to listen to music, or would this still be considered to be unacceptable because it is part of the experiment?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
