A girl walks around her garden handing out lemonade, then throws a key (with a hand attached) down into a well. She is warned about the danger she is in by three ghosts, and plays a game with a strange witch who wants to trap her. Her parents go missing, taken by the witch. She fails to run away from the house. She refuses to let the witch do something to her which will sap her life away from her and keep her trapped forever. The witch shows her all manner of wonderful things which are much more exciting than her life back home. The girl crawls through a tunnel. Her doll goes missing. She meets a weird kid on a motorbike who gives her the doll in the first place. She is bored. She moves into a new and creaky house.

... wow, that was really difficult to do. I think I got all the main plot points, however. Hopefully they're in the right order!
