This isn't meant to be racist however I have heard a lot of people describe themselves as Pakistani even though they were born and raised here. Also they weren't saying so in a racial sense more in an a nationalistic sense. So my question is if you are of Pakistani origin do you still consider yourself Pakistani even though you were born and raised in this country?

My 17 year old son was born in Spain - where we still live. His father and I both have British Passports and we were born in the UK. However, my son says he is Spanish.

It's interesting to look at how we do this elsewhere. I know plenty of British people that were born all over the world - Hong Kong, Africa, parts of Europe, America - to British parents. All pretty much universally consider themselves British, although of course there may be a bit of a sampling bias here since I'm largely talking about people who have now moved back to the UK.
