I will be starting my A-levels next year but I am currently struggling to choose between sociology or politics. My other A-level choices are French, History and English lit. How enjoyable, interesting and difficult are they?

    Government and Politics.

V enjoyable, esp if you like staying up to date with the news
V interesting- why wouldn't it be? You get to learn how weird our political system is, as well as the pros and cons compared to other systems, notably the US'
Not v difficult if you can grasp new concepts easily- if you're gonna study govpol, the best thing you can do in your essay is to chuck a load of current affairs in and actually answer the question, referring back to key words. Also, have a good structure to your essays- makes it nice for the examiner to read.

Sociology on the other hand, I can't speak for.
I have heard universities don't really like sociology though- but maybe that's just a misconception.
Hopefully someone who does sociology on TSR can inform you.

note: yes i am slightly biased in wanting you to choose govpol because I took it and i'm applying for a degree in International Relations (lol).
--- but really, govpol is a good subject ---
