Would like to go over various games that dive into the world of trade or other businesses. For example: Fortune's Tavern - the Fantasy Tavern Simulator, Hotel Giant, or Capitalism series. The games may be styled as a simulator like Sim City or RPG such as Skyrim.

What video games have you come across that allowed in depth presentation of an economy in which you controlled a business or several businesses?

What has been your impression on these games?

I don't think I have any. Currently playing Age of Empires simply because nothing else works on my PC. Updated to windows 8. Laptop is 10.

Sim City was a personal favorite. Those are real good in learning budgets but to manage people or assets? Either the dynamic was lost in my game play or that portion of the game wasn't really there. The mobile app is okay, "Sim City Build It."

There are some flaws though trade exists in a most simplistic way. You prepare goods through businesses or factories, then deliver them to unknown/made up company or sell on open market - to other players. Open market follows a socialist economy. Either someone else buys it or the NPC does (which might act as the govt.) So no sense of capitalism in game.

Another mobile app tried is Landlord - Real Estate. There may be more complexity, but still new to it. I don't expect much from a mobile app as they are limited. For example on this game the goal is to purchase property - build it up to generate profit or sell for a profit. Catch is, once a property is bought you can't buy into it again. Since everyone starts with small amount of cash, I would presume everyone would start the same with a bunch of little companies owned at 1 to 30 %

Still looking for something to own and operate a tavern, or other businesses. Ideally to try for free but I'll pony up cash if its worth it.
