Hi, i'm really struggling at the moment with writing english literature essays as I find it hard to structure them, include critics and knowing what/how to write them. The texts which are useful to me are Dracula, Dorian Gray, The Kite Runner, Atonement, The crucible and John Keats Poetry. If anyone has any essays involving these books / plays / poetry then please attach them and any tips of how to write a good essay would be appreciated, Thanks

Hi there! I do English Literature and I have studied two of those texts. I find it's important to revise the content surrounding the texts, i.e know where it's set and the society etc. I always plan, this is crucial as you don't want to jump into a Literature essay and write when there is no plan. I start with a point or some contextual information then use a quote and write an analysis of this quote and evaluate it. Have a look at websites such as Shmoop and Gradesaver for themes and other information.
