I'll give an example:
(in reference to Hassan) "He was the lamb I had to slay in order to win over Baba."
My thought process is this:
Lamb - Sacrifice, innocence, purity, vulnerability.
Slay - Seen as a 'Hunter', could be viewed as heroic, gross depiction.
Win over Baba - Selfish desires, tool to gain Baba's love.
My problem is that I have all these points but I don't know how to link them together in a concise, straightforward argument.
Any helps would be much appreciated. :^_^:

This quote exemplifies Amir's deepest desire: to "win over Baba". The use of the "lamb" metaphor, which connotes sacrifice, highlights that Amir is so desperate for his father's love and affection, he is willing to betray his friend. In this way, Amir is presented as selfish and unfaithful; contrasting with Hassan who is presented as innocent and pure in the image of the "lamb". The contrast between Amir's selfishness and his childlike need for paternal love creates an interesting juxtaposition of character in the reader's mind; he is both as vulnerable as the "lamb" and as violent as a hunter.

Obviously you have a lot to say, when analysing a quote try and think about what the quote means for the plot/ characters/ readers/ setting, whilst using the quote and the literary tools used to back up what you're saying.
