AS Grades are important as they are part of the information that universities use to decide whether or not to give you an offer! As far as I know only Cambridge see your actual UMS, so they would be able to see how close you were to the next grade up. But the UCAS form has no place for UMS, so grades do matter.
Ok, now you have said that, it probably does matter. However, I will not take back my comment (for pride he he) and will just rephrase it.

At AS Grades are important but at A2 they are more important!

You see how I did that lol. I will now crawl back under the hole I came out of.....or whatever that saying is.

Also, Well Done everyone!

I expect it's to do with the scaling up thing from raw marks to UMS. The percentage you get in raw marks doesn't necessarily convert into the same percentage in UMS. It's also possible that your coursework was marked down when it was moderated.
darn it so its not a mistake then? how irritatign that would to extra ums close to full marks.
btw i see u got 299/300 for chemistry what exam board was that with? i ahve a question about ocr chemistry and module 3 how much is how far how fast how much was coursework??? AND well done lol.

hey i was just wondering i got 59/60 for my bio coursework but on my results it came up as 86/90 and it should be 88/90 what do i do about this??

Well doen to everyone!

thanks
If u r doing AQA bio, they heavily mark the coursework down - if u lose 1 mark u drop 4 ums, if u lose 2 marks u drop 9 ums, if u lose 3 - u drop 13 and if u lose 4 u drop 18

cest la vie

Quite pleased with my results overall:

Maths + Further Maths - 697/700 - 1 dropped on C1 and 2 on M1 lol
Chemistry - 300/300 - so chuffed about that one
Biology - 291/300 - stupid module 2 - it was a gay paper

Well done to everyone!!!

Good luck in uni applications :cool:

History (Edexcel)

C - History 1 (75/120)
A - History 2 (82/90)
U - History 3 (34/90) :eek: (No idea what went wrong there, thought i was on for an A )

Overall 191/300 C

Annoyed at my History (I want to study it at Oxford...need to get that U sorted big time...) and Latin was a bit disappointing. But at least I can fall back on my excellent general studies result *rolls eyes*
I'm in a similar situation. I got the exact same UMS mark as you (191), although I took History with OCR.

It's so infuriating because I spent so much more time on History than either French or Geography, but got so mcuh better in French and Geography (265/300 and 300/300).

I wanted to do History at uni, but after this disaster I don't know if I have the stomach to resit everything.

I was just stunned at my physics mark - I guess I put a lot of work into it because I was afraid of getting a B... but still...

Physics:
Module 1 100/100 (A)
Module 2 100/100 (A)
Module 3 100/100 (A)
Total: 300/300 (A)

History:
Module 1 118/120 (A)
Module 2 87/90 (A)
Module 3 90/90 (A)
Total: 295/300 (A)

Mathematics:
Module C1 100/100 (A)
Module C2 91/100 (A)
Module M1 96/100 (A)
Total: 287/300 (A)

Politics:
Module 1 90/90 (A)
Module 2 102/105 (A)
Module 3 82/105 (B)
Total: 274/300 (A)

Suffice to say I am *extremely pleased*

I do not understand how there are so many high grading folks here! I can only guess that those like me do not wish to post... Or is a there bias towards people who care about education enough to join a student centric community?

Edexcel Applied Business - D
-> Unit 1 - D 50/100
-> Retake D 43/100 (went down)
-> Unit 2 - 43/100
-> Unit 3 - 73/100

OCR Biology - Overall E
-> Biology Foundation - B 63/90
-> Human Health and Disease - D 45/90
-> Practical - U 36/120 :'(

I felt like I did well in biology foundation..and it appears so. I had the same feeling with HH&D but obviously not. I can understand the practical: only used the equipment in one lesson before and not enough time for the section B of the paper. Shame that biology is my favourite academic subject.

OCR Double ICT - overall, probably U
-> How organisations use ICT - U 29/100
-> Retake - E 44/100 (This time I did not have my prerelease)
-> Networking solutions - U 30/100

Using computers and programming into languages are my favourite subjects. However, the reality of academic ICT is making letters, invoices and providing correct solutions that the examiner is not looking for...

What should I do?
