Don't we have to wait until after results day and once our place has been confirmed, then they'll give us info about accommodation?

Yeah, you'll probably get it after you get your registration form and a whole load of welcoming stuff. I wasn't sure if I'd get accomodation, cos I sent the form back late.

I dunno to be honest, I guess it'll depend on how much space they've got left after they've dealt with people from outside B1-B98 (I think) postcodes. There is one person I know of that lives in Bham and got accommodation, though I don't know the whole story.

Yup, once you get your results they'll send you a load of stuff through the post about accommodation.

They usually want the stuff back within a fortnight, but I wouldn't panic -- I went on holiday in late August / start of September, and came back to find the pack had been sitting on my doormat for ages, doh!!

I just sent the pack back and phoned up and e-mailed to say I'd been away, so I couldn't send it back within the deadline. However, I still got a place in accommodation that was best suited to what I required. Failing that, if you come back from holiday and find the form on your doormat, just say you didn't receive it until the other day. How will they know, with Royal Mail delivering them

It's a funny form, asks you all sorts of things, such as whether you sleep with the window open or not, and what type of music you listen to!

Oh, and if you have any problems, phone Housing Services -- emailing them will not get results. Phone, sound ultra bitchy and threatening, and they'll do whatever you wish.

Hope the above helps,

Tim.

Think I've already filled that one in and sent it off.

For a moment I got exicted and thought Housing Services had got their finger out of their backside... but then I remembered, they send that form before the rest. I was referring to the forms that you fill out regarding how to pay etc.

D'oh, my mistake!

Question:

I have sent the accomodation form way after the deadline (because no one has ever bothered to send me sth of that sort) I'm holding a insurance offer from Bham. Bearing in mind I'm an international student, do you think I'll be settled in a university accomodation? (Preference: Self catered)

Thanks. I'm really eating nuts these days. :frown:

In which hall? There are 4 shared rooms in Manor House, I know that. Check http://www.housing.bham.ac.uk for the others.

You're not guaranteed to get accomodation, so you're more likely to have to find private accomodation in a house/flat.

How come you have your accommodation through already? Did you apply for deferred entry from last year?

When you pair up with an incompatible room-mate, little habits like that won't seem funny
