When you pair up with an incompatible room-mate, little habits like that won't seem funny

I've checked this out - you can only get a shared room if you are in catered accomadation (which I'm not  ).

Yeh I'm waiting for mine too - its says in the accomadation prospectus that it useualy takes 10-14 days after the A-Level results for them to send you information on your accomadation.

I also have to wait for HSBC to finalise by student account - they havn't asked for proof of me going to uni yet.

Hey people!!

I just got my accommodation through and it looks like I'm going to be living in Hunter Court. Anyone else in the same housing? I'm a bit pissed that it's about 2 miles from the main campus because I'm a lazy bastard.

Anyone had experience of Hunter Court?

Cheers!
I haven't had my accommodation through yet :frown: ....and I sent off my UCAS confirmation as soon as I got it on the friday
Do you think they could be doing it by halls? Are Hunter court and Manor House the only offers people have recieved so far?

People... STOP PANICING!

I didn't send my accommodation stuff off until the second week of September, yet they still managed to get me a place pretty much where I wanted.

Just remember they've got a sh*tload of things to sort through, and it's Housing Services we're talking about here, not the quickest people of all, but they'll get the job done.

Tim.
I got my accommodation through yesterday for Pritchatt's park, and I'm in Ashcroft, I haven't heard from my friend whether his accommodation has come through yet.

According to the Freshers booklet Pritchatt's Park is the nearest halls to the uni, and has a social centre - SCORE!

Yer, it's about a 5 - 10 minute walk, as well as a 10 - 15 minute walk to Harborne (if u know the shortcuts, its quicker!)

Social centre's meant to be quite good too.

Tim.
On the open day we got the bus from uni to Pritchatt's and then walked back, the fact you can see the university from Halls is enough. We managed to walk in the blazing heat quite comfortably in under 10 minutes and if push came to shove I can just see myself legging it down in 5. I'm sure I'll have it down to a fine art once I get there.

*prays that my last comment won't come back to haunt me* :frown:

Last time I had to have a room-mate, I was 14 and I don't think I could stand it for a whole year. At university! Please, no!!!

If you do get stuck in a room/accommodation you don't want to be in, it really is very easy to change. Everyone I know of who wanted to managed to change within a couple of weeks.

I take it that was everyone in your flat who managed to move out within a couple of weeks?

What did you do to them to scare them off?

hey, am in hunter court too. went down to have a look around today (as is only about an hr from where I live) and seems a reali nice place to live. i can think of worse neways! right next door to the edgbaston cricket ground if your interested in cricket, rooms seem quite small but nice enough and nice buildings/layout etc. across the road is a bus stop which goes to b'ham centre every 6 minutes for £1, i would say about a 20 min walk to the campus as well. few shops and takeaways across the road and a pub called sir harrys (picture of ginger prince on the sign lol). am very happy after seeing it and am sure it will be a gud place to be living in!!
