Brighton vs Sheffield vs York... HELP please!!

OK I have a UC offer from Brighton but Sheffield and York have given me til Monday morning to decided which one of the two I want to go to.

Brighton..

+Cool city
+Sandwich course
+Got into halls
+Near London
+Course exempts parts of CIM after if I wanted
-Spread out
-Expensive
-Ages away
-Not that great a uni

Sheffield..

+Fairly good nightlife (?)
+Good repuation
-Not a campus
-Not guaranteed accommodation
-/+ fairly expensiveyet not as bad as Brighton

York...

+Nice campus type thing
+100% guaranteed accommodation
+Fairly cheap accommodation
+Great repuation
+Closer to home
-Not much of a nightlife (?)

I'm also scared that I'll find the course really hard (Managment btw) as I got in through Clearing.. but then I don't know if the course at any of the above uni's could be hard for me...?

Please help  :s-smilie:

Between York and Sheffield (err, I'm pretty sure Brighton is a lot worse in comparison to those two), choose either of them on the basis of whether you prefer night life like Sheffield or a more relaxing, green land life like York (I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who, after visiting York, couldn't help but notice how many FRIGGIN DUCKS THERE ARE!!).

I'm not sure about which one is better for management, though. I have to admit, it's too bad Brighton isn't one of the better universities -- I used to go there every summer for a month, and it's such a wonderful city in comparison to the other two...

Do you think a management degree from EITHER York or Sheffield would look dramtacially better than that of Brighton? They are both much more respected and regarded as a better quality of course and teaching etc..

However.. Sheffield offers exemptions and links with the CIM (Chartered institute of marketing) which I'm really interestes- whereas York does not.

Saying that, if I chose Sheffield, I'd be scared ******less that I wouldn't get in halls...

(and yes it is a shame about Brighton.. loved the place!)

Aww put York is a lovely city, and not far from the campus. I really liked York, and it was a difficult decision to chose UCL over it - very close call for me. I would advise you to go to York. And if it's closer to home, and with 100% accomodation, I'd say it looks like a winner.

But academically do you think employers would prefer York over Sheffield?

The thing is I really want a CIM at the end of the degree and Sheffield offers that, York doesn't. Is it a no branier, do I say yes to Sheffield?

i am at sheffield and doing management and econ. I must say that its a fantastic course, and I love every bit of the city. The uni and the course is quite well reputated and the university has links with loads of employers. York isnt bad, i wouldnt say anything against it coz i havent been thr and dont know much bout the uni. but rest assured, if u come to sheffield, u will get a world class education and brilliant graduate propects
