I Heard that on XFM. It might have just been a joke.

I remembered a terrible US cover that isn't very well known.

Save Ferris did "Come On Eileen" and I really don't know why they bothered to cover such a great pop gem.

"Every Breath You Take" is a pretty average cover by Puff Daddy but probably not the worst cover ever. But it was clearly just a huge commericial move to raise money.

I don't know, i didn't think it twas any good. Kinda thought it was a crap way to mourn (sp) a dead person. I don't know it just seems so impersonal. Sorry just blabbin now...

You're probably right. You'd think that if someone wrote a song for you once you're dead, they'd actually bother to write the song.
I heard that the idea of the song was just to raise money for Notorious B.I.G.'s kids. But it just seemed like the commercial side of things was more important than the emotional aspects.

I felt bad for Sting who got his fantastic song butchered by some idiot who only knows how to create a badboy image and has no real musical talent (that was a personal comment, Sean Combs is after all, an important producer).

the only good US cover, imo, is Ryan Adams' version of Wonderwall. I love it!! it always makes me smile  Bit slow for some people though.
seconded. It's apparently being released. Can't see it doing too well with the musical tastes of the youth of today <goes off to put on his slippers, sit in a rocking chair and smoke a pipe>
