Cheryl drives a car 453km from Cornwall to Scotland, using 30 litres of petrol. 396km are on the motorway and 57km on normal roads. On normal roads the car averages 9.5km to a litre of petrol. How many km per litre does the car average on the motorways?

    The answer is 16.5km

Can some please work this out and show me the workings for it as I done it but I got the wrong answer lol. The wording confused me a lil tbh. Help please xx

You get the 24 litres for the motorway
Put 396/24 into your calculator and see what you get

What a preposterous question. It is about 410 miles (660 km) from Bude, north Cornwall to Gretna Green, south Scotland, not 456 kilometres. One of the examiner, Cheryl or Alevelssuck is a bit confused over units of measure.
