2017 Mathematic Applicants Thread


Hello all :smile:. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. I have set up this thread as I could find none others like it on TSR. Now I know there are individual ones for universities but see this as the proper superset of all those threads. This thread can act like a congregation for all people applying for Mathematics courses in the 2017 cycle. I have set this thread up with the intention for people to meet similarly minded individuals wishing to study the best degree on Planet Earth - they may do it better in another galaxy!

AS Results: AA (Only sat exams for maths and further maths, due to my budget school)
A2 (Predicted/Achieved): A*A*A*A* (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science)
Universities applied to: Well, I'm going to take a gap year, so I have yet to decide. However, I'll definitely be applying to Cambridge! I hope I'm still allowed on this thread :colondollar:
Fun fact: Hmm, I'm amazing at table tennis...

Maybe including UMS average is a good idea?

Does this mean you will take STEP this year or will you do it in your gap year? And of course you are allowed on the thread! :smile:

Joke. Yes, I will be taking STEP in the next exam season, this is so that I can have a relaxing gap year. Assuming I do well...

Why have you decided to take a gap year?


Mainly due to A-level reforms in two of my subjects, my school didn't see any point in entering us for AS exams and instead gave us specimen mock papers.

Offer from London Met for mathematics BSc! Just waiting on Wolverhampton, Roehampton and Leeds Beckett now.
