Okay I have 2 questions but here's my situation first.
We are currently with Vodafone broadband and frankly their broadband is abysmal we don't have fibre in our house sadly although only 3 houses down they do, and our current broadband with them is constantly dropping out and more or less all the time we have ping spikes anywhere between 60ms-600ms and then most of the time dropping out altogether. And just to add to it all their customer service is the worst I've ever seen outside of their physical stores which are very useful but can't do a lot on the technical side we get send in circles constantly from their phone and online support.
We're looking to maybe change ISP's but this is where my questions lie:
1) Say we were to pay for Sky at the same time whilst still with Vodafone so we can test see if they are any better at all and if not then we will cancel with them and just keep Vodafone and be stuck with terrible internet, would having the Vodafone line active and the Sky line active cause any conflict or will it all be okay?
2) What are the chances that we would ever get fibre in the area since it is literally just 3 houses down that it stops at?
Just a few added Notes: I am connected via Ethernet cable we have anywhere between 1-9 devices connected at a time but as we have tested this seems to make no difference at all to the ping (Unless we're all streaming netflix or something at the same time which is fair enough)
