'Will the reactions of 24Mg and 23Mg with oxygen be any different? If so, how? If not, why?'

This question confuses me a bit. This is my answer to the question:

'The reactions of 24Mg and 23Mg with oxygen will be the same because both the isotopes of Magnesium have the same number of valence electrons and the reactions of an element is determined by its valence electrons.'

Is my answer correct? Should I alter it or is okay? Any suggestions please...

That's absolutely fine for A Level, if you go on to do chemistry at university you will find there is a difference (albeit slight for these two isotopes).
