    If you want to be an architect then yes

    You do a 3 year BA/BSc degree. Then you spend a year working. Then you go back to university for a 2 year MArch course. Then you work for a couple more years before you can take a final exam to become a qualified architect.

    You don't have to do this if you decide the career isn't for you - you can get work in the industry or in other fields after your BA degree.
