Investigating machine learning algorithms for my A2 project watch

    For my A2 Computer Science (AQA) project, investigating a machine learning algorithm seems interesting but is it something I could do well in?

    Also, where would I start? It seems so broad at the moment

    Machine Learning can involve many different types of algorithms, some are listed here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machin...ing#Approaches

    Where you need to start very much depends on what problem you are trying to solve/investigate - if you could provide a bit more information about your project it would be helpful

    All machine learning algorithms involve a decent amount of maths so ensure that you are comfortable with linear algebra before you start.

    I would advise taking a look at https://www.analyticsvidhya.com/blog...ng-algorithms/ for out of the box solutions if you're looking to simply use an algorithm for a problem.
    In terms of implementation and customizing it highly depends on the algorithm you are going for.
    I would say a linear regression trained via gradient descent may be at the level appropriate for A2 (assuming you have A2+ knowledge of calculus) . https://www.r-bloggers.com/regressio...-descent-in-r/
