    Danke schön. Aber...
Why does 'darum' come into it?
As far as I knew 'darum' means 'therefore' or 'that's why'. What does it mean in this context?
"Darum" = "um das", and "darauf" = "auf das". (Die meisten Leute kümmern sich nicht um... (das) / achten nicht auf... (das).)

    hello everybody,
what about forget-me-not, I like Vergissmeinnicht, or glow worm for Glühwürmchen.
I think it depends on who is talking and about what, whether a language sounds harsh or not. You can ooze charm just by saying it and "Süßholz raspeln" needs a bit of imagination.

Apparently der Krebs doesn't refer to a pubic louse. This is my thing to remember for the evening.

I'll hopefully be using German at uni, when I go back in 2010 to do lots of fun things with critical theory.

I'll be starting Uni in Sept 2010, hopefully to do German + something else. =)

On the topic of pleasant/unpleasant words, I think 'I love you' is and always will be more romantic than 'Ich liebe dich'.
I think in general, German's more of a masculine language than English. Perhaps a girl speaking English will sound nicer than a girl speaking German and a man speaking German sounds a bit more manly than a guy speaking English.
How is it that on the whole German men seem to have deeper voices than the English?

Yep. Might be easier for you to understand with a comma in, as I've added above.
