Wo liegt denn der Problem? Bei der Grammatik? Beim verstehen bzw. Kommunikation? Vokabeln?

Wenn der Problem beim verstehen oder bei der Kommunikation liegt, bist du hier Richtig. Du musst halt mit diese Diszipline dich wahnsinnig anstrengen, und nichts anderes als lesen und schreiben üben. Manche Leute finden es einfacher, Laut zu lesen. So übst du gleichzeitig das Sprechen. Deutsch ist eine relativ einfache Sprache zu sprechen, weil sie meistens so ausgesprochen wird, wie sie gescrieben ist.

Andererseits, ist Grammatik nicht gerade mal Einfach. Selbst ich finde sie noch recht Schwer, und ich spreche Deutsch seit ich sprechen kann. :tongue:

Aber, die deutsche Grammatik ist auch relativ Logik, und es gibt ganz sicher viele gute Websites die du mal ansteuern könntest. Diese Seite sieht Gut aus - soweit ich sehen kann hat es jede Menge Übungen die du probieren könntest. :smile:

Vokabeln musst du aber lernen. Es ist verdammt langweilig, aber ohne Vokabeln lernen kannst du dich natürlich in keine Sprache verständigen. Viele Leute benutzen Google-Translate, um Vokabeln von Deutsch auf English zu übersetzen, und verkehrt rum auch. Google-Translate ist furchtbar schlecht. Benutze es nie. Leo ist eine sehr gute online Wörterbuch von der Uni München. Die generelle Regel, ist was nicht in Leo steht, gibt es nicht. :biggrin:

Hmm regards to the Goethe Institute, it will be a lot cheaper to go somewhere in Germany, look for a host family (so you just rent out a room for a lot cheaper in someone's house and then you're also living with Germans too, so you can practice at home) and then visit a . I visited the VHS and I was using the same books and learning the same things as my friends who went to the GI and were paying much more than me and for a shorter time period too.

How did you find it and what was your level when you attended?

I do like the look of the Goethe Institute, but the one I would be doing is the 3-weeks, and ideally, as I won't be visiting Germany regularly in the near future, I would like to stay for about 5 weeks, the duration of my summer.

How long did you stay for, how long was the course and what were your general impressions...generally?

Hmm, verglichen mit anderen Online-Wörterbüchern ist Leo nicht schlecht, aber es hilft einem nur dann wirklich, wenn man bereits in etwa weiß, wonach man sucht... Für einfache Begriffe geht es ohne weiteres, aber sobald etwas mehrere Übersetzungen hat, bekommt man Schwierigkeiten, weil die Erläuterungen fehlen. Und darum kann man, wenn man sich nur auf Leo verläßt, auch ziemlich übel danebenhauen.

Ah,

es scheint kaum, dass ein "native" ein Verkenntnisse uber Alte-englische hat. oder vielleicht nicht
(Ich denke, dass was ich in deiner profile sehe, alter englische ist (oder vielleicht du bist nicht so gut am grammatik als ich dachte..))
ich spreche nicht zu viel zu deutsche leute.

Englische Literatur?!?! Das könnte ich nie machen. IB Standard English und die ganze Bücher die dazu kommen treibt mich langsam bis in die Hölle. Hast du vielleicht Lust, es für mich zu machen?? :wink:

Es gibt nicht nur tagsüber, sondern auch Abendkurse. Es ist wie ein "adults college". Also man besucht einen Kurs z.B. Musik, oder Französisch für Anfänger oder Mathe usw.

Mein niveau wußte ich, weil ich einen Gespäch mit einer Lehrerin hatte, bevor ich mich für einen Kurs entschiedet hatte.

Ich hatte ein Jahr in Deutschland verbracht und mein Kurs dauert 3 Monate :biggrin:

I was gonna take a look at your essay but I have an exam tomorrow and I've been trying to prepare for it.

Morgen geht's los, da wir die erste Pruefung fuer Dolmetschen haben (Unilateralkonsekutivdolmetschen). Wir muessen eine Rede zum Thema Immigration ins Englische machen. Hoffentlich schlafe ich genug und ich hoffe auch auf keinen Laerm.

Ist das etwas anderes als Simultandolmetschen (also z.B. indem man wartet bis jemand komplett fertig ist und dann die gesamte Übersetzung liefert)?

Anti-trolling device. Someone could come along in a big thread and just post a long string of letters without spaces in, and this would cause everyone's page to expand horizontally, which screws with page layout and makes posts very annoying to read. So the forum will split up a string of characters that's too long. And of course, words can't possibly be longer than 30 letters. :p:
