No. You know the egg is digested when it becomes smaller and the length is less.

Your answer for 2a would get one mark. You need to say how you would do it randomly (ie. random number generator with grid references or throwing it blindfolded)
For 2b, just count how many square equivalents are coloured in grey. To my count, it's about 8.
