I'm 16 (17 in January) and currently 1 month into A Levels. I'm finding that a lack of any money is stopping me from social interaction (cinema, relaxing at parks, etc.) and my dad has recommended me a few times already for me to get a part time job just to earn some money. I'm thinking of working on weekends for maybe 6-8 hours each day as maybe an assistant at a tearoom shop, shop assistant, a job at the local fish and chip shop, post office assistant or a restaurant assistant. What I'm wondering is should I get a job as I don't know if it'll affect my A Levels (never had a job before)...

A job alongside a-levels is perfectly manageable as long as you keep on top of your work and are organised. How many hours you do is up to you. Some people do extra hours in school holidays etc. Plus its something to put on your CV and will make it easier to get another job if you already have one. Especially if you want a job while at uni etc.
