Okay, so basically i have been at uni for a month and so far i am enjoying my course but socially its kinda lacking, like when i am with my flatmates (they get along better with eachother than me) i have anxiety and start feeling really rubbish about myself. I've made friends with people on my course and i hang out with them but like im really concerned about accommodation for second year, I basically asked one of the person if i could move in with them and they said that right now her and her flatmates are just looking, do im worried about that (stupid, I know) anyway i guess right now im looking for advice on how to calm my anxiety. Another problem is that I just dont see my accommodation as a home, i basically panic if i have to spend a day alone in that house. Can you give me advice, please? also i have joined societies and been to the welfare centre

It's far too early to be thinking about accommodation for next year. You've only been there a month! So stop worrying about that.

If you don't see your accommodation as home, think of what you can do to change that. Do you just need a few pictures and a rug? Is this a problem you've had for a while, or has anxiety just come on because you've left home? You might find it helpful to speak to the uni counselling service, or speak to the welfare centre again.

But mostly it sounds like you're just rushing things. It's a huge change so you won't feel 100% straight away. Most students end up feeling homesick at some point.

At most unis that's accurate but there's a decent number where you do need to be looking around now if you don't want to be fighting for the scraps.
