    Hi guys,
    I'm having trouble to solve this simultaneous. y + 4x +1=0 and y^2 +5x^2 -2x = 0
    Ive got up to 21x^2 +6x+1 =0
How would I factorise it ??
    Thanks

Ooops ik blind I can't see properly it was a + but I thought it was a -

you could either use the equation or try to complete the square

The quadratic is wrong as there are no real solutions. Try solving the simultaneous equation again. Make y or x the subject of the first equation and substitute it into the other equation.

That's because the quadratic is incorrect, start over.

Are you sure you've written the question down correctly, because there are no real solutions to the quadratic. Post the original question please.
