Over the past few years I've really developed an interest in crime and have intensively researched some well known criminal cases and analysed them. Although this sounds more like criminology, I think law sounds a better option to do, and I'm leaning to study it at uni. I know in personal statements they like to show you have a wider interest in the subject so if I applied for law would my interest in crime and cases be relevant? I know it's an aspect of law but would that help me at all? And if not what should I put on?

Yes it would be relevant, perhaps having some work experience to do with law.

That would be great to put in your personal statement! However, you should be careful about how much you sway toward Criminal Law. I spoke mainly about criminal in my first PS draft and my college teachers advised me against it because universities want to see that you're open to studying all aspects of law rather than coming to university wanting to specialise from the start
