    can someone please explain this question it is repeated a lot but i just dont get the idea of it ..... its not making sense, like if you burn one tree there is no net increase of co2 in atmoshphere but if burn a whole feild there will be a net increase :confused: its still the same ratio!!!! the same amount of carbon dioxide is being returned into the atmosphere as the amount in plant (taken in) each time!! why is it when a lot are burned at once everything changes!!! and what has it got to do with the remaining number of plants in the feild, it is just returning back the amount taken in... im sooooooo confused someone please provide a detailed explanation, thank you x

    I think it's getting at the idea at the fact that although using the peat itself is carbon neutral, the machinery used to collect, transport and store the peat most likely create carbon dioxide and also it means that you're going to kill a lot of plants while your clearing it, which in the future would've absorbed carbon dioxide during their photosynthesis process which can't anymore.
