Ok so the University in question (not going to name drop as too be honest I don't want people calling up and trying to take the places when I'm so close - not being selfish just being real -so don't hate)
are being confusing. I call up the main clearing hotline desk, I give them my grades (i'm studying physics) and it is BBC (c in physics) they say "sure that matches the grade requirements, i'll put you through" I get through to the Physics department, and they say NO, the C is the problem. They only say this once my name has been given!
Other info: I applied before, they were my insurance. (but it was unscuccesful)
I went into the uni yesterday to show my enthusiasm, but they said probably not.
Is there some kind of hatred to my application or what?

Probably just the hotline desk not being given proper instructions on the Physics requirements. (ie they're just told BBC NOT BBC with a B in physics)

They're probably looking for a people with a better physics grade - what was the previous offer? They probably won't be looking for people with any less than the normal offer. If the offers BBC, the clearing hotline probably don't realise its B in physics the department are looking for. usually if they've already refused you, they are unlikely to take you in clearing.
Are there any other unis/courses you could try?

Do you mean that you had Physics at this uni as your insurance, but didn't get in? If they wouldn't accept you with your grades when they were your insurance, they aren't going to accept you through clearing. The grade requirements are presumably BBC with a B in Physics, and they aren't willing to go lower than that.
