    Hi,

Well I picked up my A2 results yesterday and saw some pretty pathetic grades.

    English Lit - A
    History - D (5 marks of a C - not that it matters)
    Chemistry - E

I have no choice but to take a gap year and retake certain modules from History & Chemistry to bring them up to A's.

I will re apply to Top London uni's for Law. My question is will the Uni's see my actual grades? I don't know what they will see

Do I need to cash in my A in English Lit? If so will Uni's see my A in that subject?

Will Uni's offer me a place for Law even tho I am on my thrid year? if they will, will they bump up the grade requirements to AAA?

Please help me with this, I am totally clueless to these questions. Anyone with experience of gap years or takign one please help me out.

    Thanks

Your best bet is to phone the unis you want to apply to and ask what they think of retake applicants.

They'll know that you're retaking (because you'll have taken 3 years to take your A levels). How they'll respond to that is up to them.

Speak to your exams officer at school. It's more likely that your A levels are already cashed in and that you'll need to decline any grades from subjects you want to retake.

You include any certified/cashed in results in your application form (including module grades). Any declined grades don't get included (but you list the A levels that you're retaking as having a "Pending" grade.

Apparently from September 2007 you do not need to decilne grades in order to retake that particular subject.

You do need to decline grades in order to leave them off your UCAS form though....
